San Luis Obispo County is the only place in California where you can drive on a beach in an ATV (All Terrain Vehicles).
The Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area - near Pismo Beach and Grover Beach - has hundreds of acres of sand dunes and beach, perfect for adventure and exploration. This is fun for the whole family.
You can bring your own vehicles, or rent them at the beach. You can drive on the beach with your motorcycle, car or truck - just be careful about not getting stuck in the sand.
You can also arrange for a Hummer tour. This is perfect if you want to leave the driving to someone else or have someone show you the best spots.
