Silk Painters of the Central Coast

Visit Vina Robles' latest art exhibition presented by the Central Coast chapter of the Silk Painters International - SPIN. The show was juried by renowned local artist Sandra Kay Johnson. She has not only had her works displayed in nationally acclaimed galleries, but has also created various public works for our county, including the flock of whimsical birds in steel and silk at the San Luis Obispo Airport. The Gallery at Vina Robles is open daily during tasting room hours.

SLO County is a biker's mecca. Lots of great paved roads (many with marked bicycle shoulders), mostly light traffic, courteous drivers, mild weather and great scenery. Roads range from easy family rides to the most strenous and exhilarating. No wonder the Tour of Caifornia Bicycle Race has swept through SLO County several times, and Team Columbia is based here. SLO County is a mountain biker's mecca. Lots of great unpaved roads, fire roads, mountain bike paths, mild weather and great scenery. But do be careful - outlying areas may NOT have cell phone coverage if problems occur. Guide books are also advised. On selected Saturdays and Sundays, you can take a free docent-led hike on one of the many great hiking trails in the area. Hikes range from easy to arduous. OR, hike with a friend (for safety's sake) on any day. Hikes are led by ECOSLO or the Parks Deparment of the City of SLO. (Be sure to wear appropriate shoes and bring water.) "Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints."

Every day, be amused while looking down at the harbor seals that use the lower level of Harford Pier as their favorite "hang-out". Watch as they live their life - barking, sleeping, arguing and fishing. Note: do NOT get too close, and do not feed them. Great educational fun for kids and adults!
