Annual "Day in the Shade" Art Fair in Templeton California

The annual "Day in the Shade" Fair is held on the Saturday of Mother's Day Weekend. About 10 local wineries join about 50 leading local artists. So sip wine (charge) while strolling through a beautiful park and admiring the art. Find a gift for Mom, and maybe something for yourself as well. Truly a wonderfully relaxing experience.

Heirloom Tomatoes in Templeton California

San Luis Obispo County grows an incredibly diverse variety of fruits and vegetables. Here is a display of some of the heirloom tomatoes available in season a the Jack Creek Farm Store on Highway 46 West, not far form Cambria an dHighway 1.

Wedding at Carriage Vineyards in Templeton CA

Weddings and receptions at wineries are very popular in San Luis Obispo County. The Paso Robles Wine Region - with over 170 wineries in the northern part of the county - offers many choices. This wedding was held at the Carriage Vineyards, which also offer a horse and carriage ride through the property. There is also a small B&B on the property.

Biking Old Creek Road Cayucos - Templeton California

Old Creek Road is favorite trail for truly dedicated bikers - with its zig-zagging paved road through the hills between the coastal town of Cayucos and the inland wine country of Templeton. Great views of the ocean, vineyards, reservoir, oak trees and more. The only downside is the steep climbs - and steep downhill rides. No services along the road, but little traffic and many shady spots.
