Elephant seals are found on the northern coast along Piedras Blancas and San Simeon beaches, with the peak occuring from December - March. Fun for the whole family, but keep respectful distance and no dogs.

Indoor "Roman" Pool at Hearst Castle in San Simeon California
The interior pool is one of the many wonders of the famous Hearst Castle. Millions of blue and gold tiles help create the incredible beauty. The diving platform shown is naturally lit by glass block bricks set in the tennis courts above.
