Tour of California 2009 Bike Race Finish Line in Paso Robles California

The annual Amgen "Tour of California" quickly became the premier bike race in the United States. Every year since its inception, a town in SLO County has hosted a leg of the race. For the first 3 years, it was in the City of San Luis Obispo. Starting in 2009, the City of Paso Robles has been proud to host the race. The race is popular with locals and visitors, becuase of the great bike routes and gereat popularity of biking throughout SLO County.

Biking the Far Out Wineries in Paso Robles California

A group of mostly smaller "Far Out Wineries" have banded together to advertise their location off the main roads in the county. This makes a perfect trail for bikers - great scenery, great wineries and little traffic.

Most of the "Far Out Wineries" are located either on or near Vineyard Drive north of Highway 46 West, in the Paso Robles Wine Country. The bakery sharing the Rotta Winery tasting room space - perfectly situated at the intersection of Highway 46 West and Vineyard Drive - is a favorite stopping and regrouping point along this route.
