The Sweet Springs Nature Preserve in Los Osos California
The Sweet Springs Nature Preserve in Los Osos California
Sweet Springs Nature Preserve is a charming protected habitat of about 10 acres near where the two small towns of Baywood Park and Los Osos meet. There is a natural fresh-water pond within just a few feet of the nearby saltwater Morro Bay estuary. This makes it a great spot for birdwatching or just relaxing to the beauty of nature.

Turri Road Biker in Los Osos California
Turri Road Biker in Los Osos California
Turri Road is a little known short-cut between the city of San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. It may be little known to locals, but it is a very popular location for car commercials due to its great scenery, curving roads and rolling hills.

These advantages make Turri Road a great and popular location for bikers. Note - there are no services along the road and little shade - but it does receive cooling breezes from the nearby ocean.

Bear Statue in the Valley of the Bears. The town of Los Osos ("the bears")dates from before 1800, when its bear meat kept the local Spaniards alive. No bears now, but still lots of natural beauty.
