Novo Restaurant and Lounge is launching a summer late night lounge on Friday and Saturday starting June 1st, called Beleza Nights at Novo. Beleza, a Portuguese word meaning beautiful, aptly describes the ambiance of Novo after dark. From 10pm – 1am, the well-known creek side patio will be dressed in lights complete with outdoor DJ, dance floor, two full bars, bottle service and a late night food menu.

Visit San Luis Obispo County partnered with the U.S. Travel Association to celebrate National Tourism Week, May 4-12, 2013 and quantify its impact on the local community. Tourism is currently the number one industry in San Luis Obispo County with visitor spending totaling $1.2 billion* in 2011. Industry earnings generated by travel and tourism spending reached $405 million, which generated $79 million of direct tax receipts supporting San Luis Obispo County. Tourism employs 15,570 persons in San Luis Obispo County. Jobs range from entry level to head of household in tourism, including accommodations and food service to arts, entertainment and recreation to retail and transportation. Tourism keeps San Luis Obispo County's local communities economically viable.

The 30th Annual Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival will take place on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, May 25th & 26th. The Strawberry Festival is San Luis Obispo County's largest free Festival and is the primary yearly fundraiser for the Arroyo Grande Village Improvement Association. The Central Coast Wine Classic Foundation is pleased to announce the grantees for funds from the 2013 Twenty-Ninth Annual Central Coast Wine Classic, to be held from July 11th through 14th, in Avila Beach, Shell Beach and San Simeon on the Central Coast of California. From net proceeds from the Wine Classic, specific projects are funded for 501(c)3 non-profit corporations in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties whose missions are in the Healing, Performing or Studio Arts. Over the past nine years the event has conferred grants $2,101,055! to 103 such non-profits. Grants for 2013 will be conferred in early October in San Luis Obispo.
