*** TRAFFIC ADVISORY #6 ***
HIGHWAY 1 CARMEL TO CAMBRIA ROADWAY UPDATE
HIGHWAY 1 RE-OPENS MID-WEEK 25 MILES SOUTH OF BIG SUR
MONTEREY COUNTY:
At this time, Caltrans estimates an opening of Highway 1 (Post Mile 22) at the rock slide about 25 miles south of Big Sur by MIDWEEK. When it does reopen, Highway 1 will remain under one-way traffic signal controls as it was prior to the slide. As always, conditions and schedules are subject to change and we will continue to provide updates as the cleanup and repair work progresses.
All Big Sur and coastal businesses remain OPEN with detours available for motorists.
For more information on Monterey County projects, call the toll-free hotline at (888) 836-0866 or visit
www.dot.ca.gov/dist05/projects/. The public may also call the statewide CHIN at (800) 427-7623 for
updates on current traffic conditions.
